Kitchen

Clean plus one means I clean my dishes plus two more plates or cups or utensils. This easily results in a clean kitchen.

The more people focus on I clean my stuff and you clean your stuff, often the messier the kitchen becomes.

Sink and dirty dishes

Some people see the sink as the place to put dirty dishes. One person or people take turns cleaning dirty dishes in the sink. One person said seeing dirty dishes in sink reminded him or home. A house lived in, instead of being a museum.

Some people see the sink as for cleaning and washing things not for storing things. Things are not left in the sink. It is left clear for the next person to use. This shows them that people care about others in the house.

The idea of the machine cleaning your dishes sounds easier and more sanitary.

What to do with three dishes while the dishwasher is full ?

Leaving dirty dishes in the dishwasher can result in cockroach infection, I saw this in three different houses. I don't understand how the cockroaches can survive in the dishwasher after a cleaning cycle but they did very well in all three dishwashers and multiplied.

Got a smaller dishwasher so it is quicker to empty. Likely more people are willing to empty it. So dishes don’t pile up.

Or get a sanitizer instead of dishwasher. People have to clean the food off the plates, leaving no food for cockroaches and other bugs to live off inside and outside the sanitizer.

I knew a house sharing group I got a dishwasher and it was a disaster. People fought over who should empty it, dirty dishes piled up while it ran and not empties. Their answer to replace the dishwasher with a smaller sanitizer.

Living room

Some people like leaving the personal things there so it feels like home

Some people and a sharing situation don't want personal stuff in the living room because I didn't know whose thing is whose and what's the right way to treat it then they didn't get lost that way

Bathroom

Is the shower curtain left open or closed after use ?

As a toilet seat up or down after use ?

Dust

Some people don't see dust or don't care

Some people see dust as a sign others don't care and they don't want to live with us miserable dust

Windows

Some people like leaving them open a little for fresh air even during winter

Some people like windows closed especially colder weather because they need the heat
